You've booked a family session! Hooray! I can't WAIT to tell your family's story.

My goal is to bottle a little bit of that magic in your ordinary so you can hold onto it as time goes speeding by.

Here's how it works:

You pick a meaningful ritual, time of day, or special family activity you want to remember.

What parts of the day do you look forward to the most? What are the moments that make you stop and think "my life is so good"? Let's capture those.

Maybe:

bedtime or morning routines

planting a garden

drawing with chalk

Saturday morning pancakes

backyard campfire

running through the sprinklers

an evening at the lake

The options are endless. Think about the things your family loves doing together, the memories you want preserved. If you already have something in mind, awesome! If you need a little help, I've got your back! Just let me know.

What to expect:

When I arrive on the day of the session I'll introduce myself, and get to know your family a little bit. I’ll ask to turn off your overhead lights and open window coverings. Then I'll hang out like we're old friends for a few hours and photograph or film the magic I see.

You might hear me say "oh! can you do that again?" or “can we move a little closer to the window?” but mostly I'll just let your life unfold and capture the beautiful little moments disguised as ordinary.

Here are a few little things to remember:

Don’t stress if the kids get dirty, jump on the bed, argue with each other, have meltdowns, or lick the counter. Believe me, I’ve been there! In fact I’m there every day. Little humans have big emotions.

No need to bribe them to smile for the camera. My goal is to help them feel comfortable and in their element so I can capture those personalities and quirks you love so much.

Feel free to get snacks, change diapers, and do all the little things you normally do.

What to wear:

Wear comfortable clothes that you feel like yourself in. Neutral colors are always a great option because they are timeless and photograph well. The biggest thing I ask is that you avoid wearing bright neon colors, big logos or words on shirts. We want the focus to stay on faces and sweet moments, not distracting clothes. Easy peasy, right?

That being said, if your child LOVES wearing tutus or an octopus costume, by all means lets capture that!

The VERY most important thing to remember:

If I could only tell you one thing to prepare for your session, this would be it. Your number one job while I’m there is to enjoy your family. That’s it!

Try your hardest to turn off the perfectionist part of your brain, put away distractions, and just be in the moment with your favorite people. Soak up all the little things you love. This will help us create connected, joyful images and footage of the moments you actually want to remember.

After the session:

I will pick the very best images from the session and edit each one until it's just right. After about two weeks I'll have your images ready for delivery. I'll email you a link to your gallery and a password that will allow you to easily download the digital images.

Videos require more time to edit and typically take 6-8 weeks

Now if you'll just fill out this little questionnaire I'll make sure I capture exactly what YOU want to remember about your life right now.

Thanks! I'm excited to read it!
